14-07-03 Prosecution - Another Victory for VOSA
Gravesend coach operator Douglas Charles Allen was successfully prosecuted for a number of road traffic offences at Dartford court on Friday 11th April. The prosecution was the result of roadside checks by VOSA in Surrey and Stonehenge area. The offences include using a coach in a dangerous condition, no PSV operating licence and forging an operators licence with the intent to deceive.
Allen, operating under the name DC Travel which is based in the Gravesend area, has a history of operating dangerous vehicles and has already been found guilty twice last year for unlawfully operating coaches.
Dartford Magistrates ordered Allen to pay fines totalling £795.

The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) was created on 1 April 2003 by merging the Former Vehicle Inspectorate and the Traffic Area Network Division of the Department for Transport. VOSA is responsible for:
- Processing applications for licences to operate lorries and buses and registering bus services
- Operating and administering testing schemes for all vehicles, including the supervision of the MOT testing scheme
