12-01-09 VOSA's Swansea office moves to a showcase location after 40 years
At the end of November 2008, 250 VOSA staff moved from Welcombe House to the new Ellipse building in Swansea.
On 8 January 2009 an opening ceremony took place to officially welcome staff to their new office, and to thank them for their co-operation and willingness which ensured that the move went smoothly.
Stephen Tetlow VOSA Chief Executive gave a short speech, cut a commemorative cake and officially opened the new building.
At the ceremony Stephen Tetlow said:“This is another significant step in VOSA's modernisation journey. It puts our National Contact Centre and other key VOSA services in a more professional environment, which is better for our staff and better for our customers. I would like to congratulate all our staff for their commitment to achieve this. Without their effort and forbearance the transition would not have gone so seamlessly.
I’m pleased to welcome all our local staff working in these modern facilities and I sincerely hope they will enjoy working in this environment. This building is an example of the way things are changing in VOSA; it is modern, outward looking and a showcase for both VOSA and Swansea.”
VOSA employees occupy 75% of the building and can benefit from purpose-built, open plan offices, air conditioning and better parking facilities.
