02-04-04 VOSA Hits The Target
VOSA and Avon and Somerset Road Policing Unit conducted a joint operation yesterday morning in Bristol using VOSA intelligence to carry out targeted checks. The intelligence was obviously effective with 20 offences found on the 18 vehicles checked.
VOSA’s more targeted approach is intended to ease the pressure on compliant operators and focus on the operators who are likely to try and break the rules.
Offences included; two vehicles without a current MOT, three drivers with no operators license, one driver with no drivers license, two immediate roadworthiness prohibitions, four delayed roadworthiness prohibitions, five inspection notices and one vehicle was impounded.
VOSA look forward to continuing these successful targeted checks and encourage those with any information on possible “dodgy” operators to call our national number (0870 60 60 440). We can then focus on those who do break the rules and leave compliant operators to do their job.
