03-03-06 Temporary Unavailability of Operator Self-Service
VOSA has announced that its online services to Goods and bus and coach operators, and the public search facilities relating to operators, will be closed over the weekend of 11-12 March, with the services being unavailable from 3pm on Friday 10 March. Traffic Area Offices (TAOs) will also be without IT systems from Friday afternoon.
This is to allow VOSA’s IT suppliers, Atos Origin, to take over responsibility for the former Traffic Area Network’s (TAN) IT services, as the current contract with Computacenter expires on 31 March.
All services will be restored by 7am on Tuesday 14 March at the latest. However, should the completion of essential work and testing allow it, every effort will be made to resume these services by 7am on Monday 13 March
Mike Molyneaux, VOSA’s Head of Traffic Commissioner Support and Business Development, said: “While we regret the temporary loss of online services to our customers and partners, this transition, once complete, will provide the Agency with a common infrastructure, improve communications across the organisation and pave the way to full sharing of data.
“All of this will help us make further advances in supporting the Government's commitment to improving customer service through the joined up delivery of services. I would like to express my thanks for the contribution and support that Computacenter and our other IT suppliers have provided to the former Traffic Area Network over the last six years”.
