We are pleased to be able to inform you that from 4th January 2006 Leighton Buzzard started conducting VIC. The contact address is: -

New Contact Number for Edmonton
From Monday 9th January 2006, Edmonton will be introducing a new dedicated telephone number for VIC enquiries. Hopefully this will alleviate some of the pressures in trying to reach them. The VIC number is:
0208 8077803
Form VIC 1 will be amended to reflect this in the next print run. In the meantime VIC calls will still be accepted under the old number however please endeavour to use the new number as from 9th.
VIC Leaflet Translation
Since the VIC Scheme was introduced, it has become apparent that some of our customers, who do not have English as their first language, have encountered some difficulties in understanding both the background and general procedures of the VIC Scheme.
In order to ensure that these customers are not disadvantaged and to promote equal opportunities for all our customers we are in the process of translating the VIC Information Leaflet - The Vehicle Identity Check (VIC) Scheme INF 133, into 6 different languages. The languages that our VIC sites have identified as being most needed are Arabic, Bengali, Gujarati, Polish, Punjabi and Urdu. It may be possible in the future to introduce more languages if required.
These translations will soon be available, and we will be giving you an update on when and how you can access them. The leaflet is already available in Welsh and can be found on the website, under Policy and Guidance.
