Consultation papers
The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) is involved in a number of consultations to ensure new legislation and best practice meets all customers’ requirements. These papers are also, in many cases, a joint proposal, with the Department for Transport, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, the Driving Standards Agency, and the Vehicle Certification Agency.
Below is a list of all the current papers available for you to comment on. A link is also provided to an index of our Closed Consultations, should you wish to review recent work VOSA has proposed.
ECWVTA - IVA inspection manual for passenger cars (M1)
This document is the draft Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) inspection manual for passenger cars (M1). IVA for cars will replace the current SVA scheme (for cars) from 29th April 2009. It is currently being developed by VOSA and is available for information purposes only to support the current formal consultation being carried out by Department for Transport on the European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval regulations and fees.

This inspection manual is one in a series of 5 manuals to be published in the near future to support the implementation of the IVA scheme. The other manuals in the series which will be made available soon are;

Statutory fees for VOSA Services in 2008/9
